Melissa Breach founded and serves as chief executive officer of Prosperity California. She has decades of experience leading and advising high-impact organizations, building political power, and identifying and passing solutions to California’s most pressing problems.
Prior to launching Prosperity California, Breach served as chief operating officer for California YIMBY, where she led efforts to resolve California’s housing shortage and affordability crisis, and as Executive Director of the League of Women Voters of California, where she worked to modernize elections, secure a more representative electorate, and protect our democratic institutions.
Breach began her career as a community organizer and believes in the power of everyday people to make meaningful change in communities. Breach is an inaugural member of the Future of California Elections collaborative and an original leader of the Alliance for Housing and Climate Solutions. She continues her work to defend democracy as a League of Women Voters U.S. Board member and is an avid diver. When not working, she can usually be found exploring the nearest ocean.
