For UC Berkeley political economy researchers
Climate seed grants
BESI Climate seeks to develop a thriving research community on the political economy of climate change across campus. Each spring, we extend a call to affiliated UC Berkeley faculty for seed funding applications to catalyze larger research projects and grant applications. Faculty can apply individually or jointly. To the extent that faculty interests align, the aspiration is to develop clusters of work. For more information, please email us at besi@berkeley.edu.
Technology collaborative grants
The BESI Technology Network is excited to support research partnerships and interdisciplinary collaboration across the social sciences examining the mutual influence between technology and broader societal forces. The Collaborative Grants program supports multi-level teams of UC Berkeley graduate students, faculty, and postdoctoral researchers investigating the political economy of technology. Each spring, we welcome a broad range of proposals for awards up to $7,500, including but not limited to original research, student training and participation, and conference or workshop organization.
