The Long Run: ‘Trump’s collapsing the economy. It’s a warning sign for new Democratic governors.’

BESI senior researcher Samuel Trachtman spoke to journalist Steve Morris, editor of The Long Run newsletter, about rising energy costs for a recent post on the political risks to Democratic governors of a collapsing economy.

“There are macro-level factors that are driving up electricity costs everywhere,” Trachtman told Morris. He said that any effort to mitigate data center expansion could also run into resistance from the Trump administration, which is ramping up pressure to streamline data center construction and insulate companies from liability.
